Andrea Dombrowe

I completed my midwifery training in 1969. I then lived in Germany for many years and speak the language well.  From 1981 I was a community midwife in Guildford for over 10 years, before going to Toronto, where I established my own independent practice. I continued working independently upon returning to England and founded Surrey Independent Midwives in 1997.

I live in Guildford and am married with two adult children. I enjoy books, films, photography and singing with a large choir.

I have extensive birth experience and see pregnancy and childbirth as a healthy and normal life event.  I believe in a holistic approach to childbirth, working together to make decisions about pregnancy and birth through informed choice.  I work closely with my partner Jo Bounds.

My aim is continuity of care, which in my previous experience has helped women develop confidence in themselves and in their ability to give birth, either at home or hospital. Building good relationships with women, their partners and their families is essential to me, providing support and mutual trust. This helps to make your experience as fulfilling as possible.
